The course is addressed exclusively to physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists who have successfully attended the Basic level of Bobath course.
Course language will be English with simultaneous translation to Greek.
LLLC, EPIMORFOSIS, intends to organize an Advanced level Bobath course for adults with neurological conditions, under the auspices of the International Bobath Instructors Training Association (Ι.Β.Ι.Τ.Α.) with Doris Kutscher-Meurer
The course lasts 5 days and will take place in Athens with the title :
“The rehabilitation of postural control for the reaching and grasping movement. When is the hand/arm ready to reach into the world again?”
The course fee is 650€.
In order to finalize your registration and ensure a placement to this seminar, a down payment of 250€ must be deposited.
The rest amount of 400€ must be deposited in our bank account or via debit / credit card, at least 2 days prior to the beginning day of the course.
The Bobath concept (advanced course)
Brief description:
Rehabilitation of the upper limb constantly presents us with new challenges. The hand has several tasks in daily life.
In addition to reach movement, hand dexterity and gestures, it is used for orientation (body-body/body-space/body-environment) and balance as part of postural control.
The question that arises is: When can I reach into the world with my hand/arm and what postural requirements must be met?
The use of the hand for postural orientation up to the point of reaching, grasping and manipulation will be our topic in this advanced course.
The integration of sensory input for postural control and its relevance for the development of upper limb activities up to the manipulation movement will be our topic.
The question for neurological therapists is:
How can I meaningfully support or even force my way into this process?
What influence does the sensory system have on neuro-plastic processes and how can this be better integrated into the rehabilitation process in terms of motor learning?”
The course topic is analyzed and applied to course patients (patients with hemiplegia and patients with TBI).
Learning aims:
At the end of the course the participant will be able to
1. Understand the role of sensory input in the development of feed-forward mechanisms of postural control at the neuro-physiological level
2. Understand the role of postural control in the functional use of the upper limb
3. To be able to decide when the hand can be used as a reference point for postural orientation and in which moment in time for reaching, grasping and manipulation tasks.
4. Understand the required interaction between single leg stance and placing to be able to work out the individual components.
5. Understand the reorganization strategies of the CNS after an injury (sensory remapping)
6. To deepen and improve the process of clinical reasoning in patients with neurological acquired diseases
7. Improved and more specific clinical skills in treatment, in the context of practical work under the supervision of instructors
Prerequisite: successfully completed Bobath basic course IBITA recognized!

EPIMORFOSIS organizes specialization seminars for rehabilitation professionals. I’ve watched a lot. I strongly recommend you trust EPIMORFOSIS for your specialization and lifelong information.
Training, a steady value for more than twenty years now, leads physiotherapy and keeps it at a very high level, well done to George Karambalis and his associates, we owe a lot to all of you.
The best physiotherapists training institution. It enables the development of the necessary knowledge for clinical reasoning. High-quality training without having to travel abroad.
My first steps in professional specialization started with EPIMORFOSIS and continue. It has been with us all these years, covering the need for modern and documented knowledge, in collaboration with internationally acclaimed educational institutions.
I have known George Karampalis and EPIMORFOSIS for many years. I’ve had the opportunity to join several clinical courses and I can argue that, at the level of organisation and selection of trainers, they have a high level of recognised prestige.
EPIMORFOSIS justifies its name by providing high quality courses. George Karampalis operates more like a constant “trainee” and less like an entrepreneur, and this is an additional positive fact in the effort that is put by the workers and teachers of EPIMORFOSIS.
