Kostas Kypriotis PT, MSc, Bobath (IBITA) Instructor & IMTT Instructor

Kostas lives and works in Athens, Greece. He is mainly treating adults with movements impairments related to lesions of the central nervous system and especially stroke and multiple sclerosis. Moreover, he is dealing with myofascial dysfunction presented in a range of pathologies.

Education – Specialization

At 2003, he graduated from the Physiotherapy School of the Technological Educational Institute of Athens.

He has been awarded two Master of Sciences degrees; one from Brunel University of London (2005, MSc Neurorehabilitation) and one from the University of Athens (2011, MSc “Metabolic Bone Disorders”, Athens Medical School).

He has also attended clinical courses, such as:

Didactic Work

After finishing his postgraduate studies in Neurorehabilitation from Brunel University in London, Kostas attended at 2008 his first Bobath course for the treatment of adults with lesions of the central nervous system. Since then he took part in Bobath Courses in Greece, England, Germany, Belgium, Italy and Portugal, while he started to be trained as a Bobath Assistant Instructor by the International Bobath Instructors Teaching Association (IBITA). IBITA is an international teaching association which provides clinical education to Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists regarding the Bobath Concept. Since 2017 he is an IBITA Basic Course Instructor.

On the parallel, he developed a special interest for the role of myofascial dysfunction in terms of motor control and movement dysfunction. At 2009 he started attending courses for myofascial dysfunction by Interessengemeinschaft für myofasziale Triggerpunkt-Therapie – IMTT®. IMTT (imtt.ch) is a Swiss association which provides clinical education to Physiotherapists and Medical Doctors regarding the assessment and treatment of myofascial dysfunctions. In 2010 after attending clinical education in Switzerland he awarded the IMTT Trigger Point Therapist certification and continued his education as an IMTT assistant instructor. In 2014 he has been awarded as an Instructor for courses of the Interessengemeinschaft für myofasziale Triggerpunkt-Therapie – IMTT®.

At 2015 he became an educational member of the Foot Science International Interdisciplinary group (footscienceinternational.co.nz). Foot Science is a multidisciplinary team which focus on the study of foot problems, as well as the management of these problems by the use of orthotics.
