My name is Oikonomakou Margarita, I was born and raised in Piraeus, where I work.
I studied psychology in Italy, and after six years of living abroad I returned to Greece. I continued with my master’s degree in synthetic psychotherapy and counseling, preparing my dissertation in the science of personality based on the choice of the profession of psychologist.
Then I completed my studies in the field of developmental psychology preparing my dissertation on the topic of adolescent addiction on the Internet and how it affects the quality of life. The third master’s degree is in clinical and dynamic psychology and my dissertation was on lifelong learning in old age as a protective factor. I have also been trained in clinical hypnosis.
My field of work is mainly clinical diagnosis, counseling and individual therapy.
My studies in psychology are basically psychodynamic. The training also concerns the projection tests of T.A.T. and Rorschach, which are an integral part of psychodynamic diagnosis. I have been trained in neurolinguistic programming (NPL) as well as in the application of psychometric tools.
I have worked with children with atypical development (syndromes, autism, ADHD, mental retardation) and with parent counseling. I also deal with articles, and information on disorders through seminars and speeches aimed at raising awareness about mental illness and human rights as well as eliminating the stigma of patients with mental illness.
